1. Overview

The CKG Young Women’s Forum is a dynamic, gender-specific empowerment initiative designed to support, mentor, and uplift girls and young women aged 12 to 24. Rooted in psychosocial development, education, and gender equality, the forum creates a safe space for young women to engage, share experiences, build life-skills, and make informed choices about their futures.

This program is driven by the vision of nurturing confident, resilient, and purpose-driven young women who are equipped to lead in their families, communities, and careers.


2. Goals & Objectives

  • 💪 Build self-esteem, self-awareness, and leadership capacity
  • 📚 Equip girls with knowledge about gender rights, health, and social responsibility
  • 🗣️ Foster open dialogue around issues affecting girls and young women
  • ❤️ Promote sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and well-being
  • 👩‍💼 Prepare girls for economic independence and life after school
  • 🧘‍♀️ Support healing from trauma, abuse, and gender-based violence (GBV)
  • 🤝 Create networks of peer support, mentorship, and social change

  • Assertiveness and decision-making
  • Leadership, goal-setting, and time management
  • Identity, peer pressure, and emotional intelligence

❤️ Sexual & Reproductive Health Education (SRHR)

  • Menstrual health and hygiene
  • Contraceptives, STI/HIV prevention, and safe relationships
  • Teen pregnancy prevention and support for young mothers
  • Sexual consent and rights

🧘‍♀️ Mental Health & Trauma Support

  • Psychoeducational group sessions
  • Healing circles and expressive arts therapy
  • Referrals for counselling or psychosocial services

👩‍💻 Career Guidance & Economic Empowerment

  • Study skills, bursary access, and CV writing
  • Entrepreneurship, digital literacy, and financial education
