SayPro CEO Neftaly Malatjie Urges NPO Leaders to “Attend Trainings” for Growth and Sustainability

Southern Africa Youth Project Headquarters, 24–26 June 2025

During the SayPro Capacity Building Training for NPOs held from 24 to 26 June 2025 at the Southern Africa Youth Project headquarters, SaPro CEO and Leader of Development Neftaly Malatjie delivered a simple yet impactful message to all nonprofit professionals and community leaders in attendance:
“Attend trainings.”

Malatjie emphasized that ongoing learning is not optional for leaders who want to build sustainable, impactful organizations. In his address to over 100 attendees from across the region, he stressed that training equips leaders with the tools, knowledge, and mindset needed to grow their organizations and serve their communities more effectively.

Investing in Knowledge for Impact

“You can’t lead an organization based on outdated knowledge,” Malatjie stated. “The nonprofit space is evolving. Laws change, funding models shift, and community needs grow. If you are not attending trainings, you are falling behind.”

His words highlighted a key theme of the event: the importance of continuous capacity building. The training covered essential topics including governance, financial management, compliance with the NPO Act, program development, and youth empowerment.

Building Stronger Organizations Through Learning

The SayPro Capacity Building Programme is designed to strengthen NPOs by equipping them with practical, up-to-date skills that lead to better management, improved service delivery, and long-term sustainability. Malatjie encouraged all NPO leaders to make training a consistent part of their development strategy.

A participant from an educational nonprofit in North West province said, “This training has opened my eyes to things we were doing wrong—and more importantly, how we can fix them. I now understand why attending trainings is a must.”

A Call to Stay Empowered

Malatjie closed his message with a call to action:
“Never stop learning. Even the most experienced leader needs training. It’s how we grow, how we lead better, and how we change lives.”
