Southern Africa Youth Project Headquarters, 24 – 26 June 2025
The Southern Africa Youth Project headquarters buzzed with energy and innovation this week as nonprofit leaders from across the region gathered for the SayPro Capacity Building Training for NPOs Programme, held from 24 to 26 June 2025. The three-day event focused on equipping nonprofit organizations (NPOs) with practical tools, knowledge, and strategies to enhance their operations, improve community impact, and embrace technology in the ever-evolving nonprofit landscape.
In his opening keynote, SayPro CEO Neftaly Malatjie delivered a powerful message to participants, emphasizing the critical role of technology in organizational development and personal leadership.
“Use technology to be the master of the position you are doing at your company,” said Malatjie. “In this digital age, success is no longer about just doing the work—it’s about leveraging the tools available to lead more effectively, make better decisions, and drive innovation within your organization.”
Malatjie highlighted how SayPro has consistently invested in technology to support community development, youth empowerment, and the sustainability of grassroots organizations. He encouraged NPO leaders to adopt digital platforms, data-driven decision-making, and cloud-based systems to enhance service delivery, monitor outcomes, and increase transparency.
The training event featured workshops on financial management, donor engagement, monitoring and evaluation, leadership development, and digital transformation—tailored specifically for nonprofit professionals. Participants gained hands-on experience in using digital tools to manage projects, track impact, and build stronger stakeholder relationships.
Attendees expressed appreciation for the practical focus of the sessions and the opportunity to learn directly from SayPro’s experienced team. One participant noted, “This training has changed how I see my role in the organization. I now understand how technology can amplify our mission and simplify our operations.”
The SayPro Capacity Building Programme is part of the organization’s broader commitment to empowering NPOs to become more sustainable, efficient, and responsive to community needs. As the nonprofit sector continues to face challenges around funding, accountability, and impact measurement, initiatives like this play a vital role in building resilient organizations equipped for long-term success.
