Programme Overview
CKG provides comprehensive counselling and therapeutic services designed to support the emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing of children and their caregivers. Recognizing the complex challenges faced by vulnerable children—especially those who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma—our services focus on healing, empowerment, and resilience building within a safe and confidential environment.
Our approach is holistic, combining individual and group counselling sessions with community engagement strategies to build strong, informed support networks around children and families.
Core Services
1. Initial Assessment and One-on-One Counselling
- Conduct confidential, child-friendly assessment interviews to understand each child’s unique needs and circumstances
- Provide individual counselling sessions for children and their caregivers, offering emotional support and coping strategies
- Identify underlying issues such as trauma, grief, behavioral challenges, and family dynamics
2. Referral and Coordination of Specialized Support
- Facilitate timely referrals to specialized professionals, including:
- Social workers for child protection and welfare interventions
- Psychologists for trauma therapy and mental health support
- Drug counsellors for substance abuse treatment and prevention
- Sexual health nurses for reproductive health education and care
- Coordinate care plans with service providers to ensure integrated and continuous support
3. Group Therapeutic and Empowerment Sessions
- Facilitate group counselling and empowerment workshops for children and caregivers to:
- Share experiences and build peer support
- Develop life skills such as communication, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and problem-solving
- Address common challenges in a safe, empathetic space
4. Community Engagement and Support Mobilization
- Engage local community members, leaders, and organizations to raise awareness and increase collective support for child victims and at-risk families
- Organize community dialogues and sensitization sessions to reduce stigma, promote inclusion, and encourage protective behaviours
- Build caregiver capacities to provide nurturing and supportive home environments
